What Is Journey Youth Creative?
Mission

Journey Youth Creative supports the digital and online needs of kids - from accessibility to mentorship, business building, and for some, a safe space; without economic barriers attached.
Kids have so much to offer to the world - we believe in the power that they hold, and know that they will do cool things if they're empowered and supported. At Journey Youth Creative, we are here to give them the support they need in order to be exactly who they want to be. Journey is run by kids, with kids, for kids, with adult support.

Vision

Journey Youth Creative will be a social enterprise, with locations in rural communities across Alberta.
We will be led by a youth executive, mentored by retired community members and supported by an Executive Director.
We will help youth build their own businesses and connect with the community to sell their products. Specifically, we will help with digital opportunity and digital business building.
We will provide free programs for kids 6+ to experience the awesomeness of social media and gaming in a safe and mentored space.
We will generate income through paid programs, while maintaining a Pay-What-You-Can model.
We will create a self-sustaining model that will not rely on grant funding, but rather cooperative business enterprise.
We will maintain a model of inclusivity and brave, safe spaces.
We will provide opportunities for community organizations to build their digital resources by working with JYC kids.
We will provide coaching for kids and their adults.

Club Sponsorship
JYC clubs are free to kids. We do this so that no kid is restricted from a safe space, or digital opportunity because of economic disadvantage.
Clubs available to sponsor:
Glam Squad: Kids 9+ have a chance to experiment with the makeup looks they see on social media, while also talking about self care, skin care, self esteem and confidence. We supply everything. This is a weekly club, 2 hours long, that runs September to June. $4000/year or $400/month
Art Club: Kids 12+ build physical art and digital art portfolios and have the opportunity to sell their creations. We supply everything. This is a weekly club, 2 hours long, that runs September to June. $4000/year or $400/month

Entrepreneurs Club: Kids 12+ learn all the aspects of running a business like JYC. They work on the fundraisers, build the merchandise and manage the store. They also work with the marketing team to build and execute our marketing. This is a weekly club, 4 hours long, that runs September to June. Sponsorship is $6000/year or $500/month
JYC Kids Club: Kids 6+ come hang out. They play video games, build bucket forts, play hide and seek, make art projects, film TikToks and YouTube videos, and whatever else they can think up. This club has a lot of kids who "don't really fit in" and provides them with a fun, safe place to just be themselves. This is a daily club on weekdays, that runs year round for 3 hours a day. This club costs us approximately $22000/year to run, and we're open to any support we can get on it
Haven: This club is meant for kids experiencing bullying. Kids will be guided by Certified Youth Resilience Coaches to lean into skill building to make good decisions around the experiences they have with other kids. This will include managing big feelings without downloading onto others, positive online interactions, and healthy coping skills. Kids must be at least 9 years old to participate. This is a weekly club, 2 hours long, that runs September to June. $4000/year or $400/month
